The Nchane clan is made up of five villages with five chiefs or Fons, who are all autonomous. The Nchane People group is believed to have migrated from Eastern Nigeria along other villages of the North West and other parts of this country. But some of the villages for an example Nfume migrated from the Chief of Kano’s family in Nigeria. The Beautiful Nchane land begins from the east bounded by Nooni Subdivision and Nkambe Central Subdivision. It is bounded to the North by the Sari People, to the West by Part of the Sari People, and Mungong. To the South by Bum Subdivision. The Nchane land is a blessed land with and by God’s favour. They are a peace loving people and God fearing. They worship the almighty God and they are not left out from Idol worship.
Agriculture: It has plenty of food crops, corn, colokesia, cocoyam, cassava, yam, potato, spiced up with groundnut, egusy, vegetable, meat, Sugar cane, cash crop such as Coffee, cocoa, banana, plantains and Palm oil, name the rest. Animals keeping is another potential activity of the community. Animals such as cattle, small ruminants, pigs and birds. This is an intensive activity of the area that no one leaves it out.
Economic: It is a busy center attracting imports and exports of goods as well as animals. The land is law abiding and caring. A lot of goods are in the place for trading, therefore trading is of a big interest in the place and this requires many exploiters.
It economic is also boasted by the sale of sand, stones, white mimbu, roofing grass for the common man. Buyam salam is an economic center of interest.
The Sub divisional headquarters of Misaje Subdivision is found on their land, it is a town with people from many different language groups, this is the secret of it fast and steady growth.
Church: Churches have spread all over through out the land; in the five villages we can count the number of churches built but we cannot asses the number of Churches worshipping in people’s house either on rent or asked to use as it is a service to the lord.
Traditional and Culture: This has a strong hold in the Nchane community, the practice of some traditional rights in the area is perfectly followed up by a handful of youths in the area. The cultural aspect of juju, and some strong hold of secret society such as the traditional government left in the hands of Kwinfon. These and other organizations of the Nchane people makes the culture respectful and attractive. Traditional dance groups for men, women , men and women and Nfuh or Samba the worirors is reserve for the youth and directed by the witches and wizard in the place.
On the other hand, tradition is also taking an upper hand as must youths are trusting traditional affairs not for any good reason but for there, there’s food and drinks. Main while libation is a traditional fact that is not distributed.
The people of this land, over labour to acquire finance, as there are no services to give jobs to the youths. That is why almost all of the youths in the area are all out of the villages for greener pasture.
Education, it is the basic of life and it is termed compulsory in the area as is consider an inheritance not distributed over. Many Nursery, Primary, secondary and high schools both private and government are planted dottedly everywhere without respecting the given distances.
